About this event

In this special Blend Book Club Live, we’re joined by Paul Gottsegen,  CMO and President of ISG, and author of Do the Opposite (Sort Of), for a candid and thought-provoking conversation about the counterintuitive shifts that unlock stronger leadership.

Drawing on decades of experience at the highest levels of global business, Paul explores a powerful idea: when facing complex challenges, growth often lies not in doubling down on our default instincts, but in deliberately considering, and sometimes choosing a different response.

CMO, Author and Leadership Expert

As President and Chief Marketing Officer of ISG, Paul orchestrates the firm’s marketing activity globally, including demand generation, branding and communications.

His marketing alchemy has revitalized industry giants, including complete branding transformations at Mindtree and Infosys. Earlier, he shaped enterprise marketing strategies at technology powerhouses HP, Dell, and Compaq.

Beyond the boardroom, Paul channels his leadership into meaningful causes as Board Chair of the Gastric Cancer Foundation. His unique blend of technical expertise (B.S. in Computer Science from Brandeis University) and business acumen (MBA from The Wharton School) forms the foundation of his distinctive approach to challenging business orthodoxy.

Paul is the author of the business leadership book, Do the Opposite (sort of), Unlocking Opportunity by Overruling Conventional Wisdom.

Why should you attend?

Leave with a clearer read on which of your own instincts still serve you and which ones are quietly capping your impact.

Take away a usable framework for pausing before you default to instinct, so high-stakes decisions get better, not just faster.

Walk away with a real shift in how you approach uncertainty and change, not just another idea to nod along to and forget.

Sharpen your own thinking in conversation with senior leaders facing the same board dynamics, transformation and next-chapter questions.
